About

Hello…..a few words for “About”

With this blog I hope to inform and inspire my generation, the Baby Boomers, and anyone else of course, who finds this material interesting.  Our lives have changed a lot since the 60’s, hasn’t it?  In those days, whether at school or work, or in casual conversation with friends, our minds were focused on revolution. When I look back on that era, the analogy of wild, untamed horses comes to mind.  We would not accept the status quo, and wanted to turn everything upside down!  What happened?

The war ended, we finished school and went to work, and melded into society, but not without affecting major, and I mean major, changes in our culture.  We’ve raised families and now we’re grandparents, most of us.  But grandparents or not, I believe that we are still revolutionaries!  And, we need to pick up the ball.

The health of this earth is in trouble, and apparently we don’t have a lot of time to turn the tide.  I realize that there will always be naysayers who simply don’t believe the scientists and others who spend their entire lives drilling the ice samples, tracking the changes in glaciers and the quality of our water and air.  But, let’s just suppose we really are in trouble.  And, let’s also imagine that you can hear your great-great grandchild asking, “Why didn’t you do something?” What would you say?

Well, that is the reason I am starting this blog.  I do have grandchildren, two newbies, and  it wasn’t long after their births that I began to think about what I could do to affect change.  And, I promise you that I tried to ignore this call to action, because I realize that there is going to be a lot of work involved.  When we get out of our routines and move to act there’s always work.  And, change is difficult, but just recall those words:  “Why didn’t you do something?

And, remember, we ARE REVOLUTIONARIES!  We’ve already changed the world once!

  1. Hi I have a question about your blog. Could you please email me when you get a chance? Thanks!

  2. Dear Revolutionarist! I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful it is I stumbled upon your blog and what impressed me most is that no matter at what age, the call and passion to do something greater than ourselves is a calling of a lifetime. Thank you for being that agent of change in our world. I look forward to getting to know you and learning from your wonderful blog. Warmest greetings from Finland, Sharon
